“Make a test call” option is missing in Microsoft Teams

UPDATE 16/10/2019: This issue is actually a feature and by design, the BOT responsible for test call, is not available in other languages except English, that’s why the button is removed in other languages, to avoid confusing the users.

I had a case with a customer, that was interesting and thought to share it with you.

The customer complained, that some users can see the option to “Make a Test Call” under their client’s settings, and some can’t.

I decided to write a step by step guide in configuring Skype for business hybrid scenario, I noticed that the Office 365 guide can be confusing.

before we start I’m assuming the following

1. You already have a functional internal Skype for Business infrastructure especially in regard to the external functionalities and Open Federation
2. You have installed, configured and synchronizing your Active directory (ADFS & DirSync)
3. Added and verified your Domain with your Office 365 tenant
4. have Global administrator permissions on Office 365
5. Installed Skype for Business Online  Windows PowerShell Module

One Click Attach SIP-Stack Logs to current IM Session

This is another version of my original “One Click send SIP-Stack logs as an Email to Administrator”, in my first release the program is developed to collect the log files zip them then attach it to an email and send it to the pre-defined Administrator’s or IT-Help desk email, in this article I’m sharing a new version of the that program, this one is even better why? this one will collect the log file, zip it and transfer the file using the built-in “File Transfer” feature of Lync / Skype for Business.

This program was build with the wonderful help of Mr.Christoph Weste, All credit goes to him for taking the time to develop this important part that allow Lync / Skype for Business client to use the Share File feature to send the log file instead of sending it via Email. follow him on Tiwtter @_CWeste

a while ago customer with about 10,000 seats pointed out nicely to me that they are finding it annoying explaining to the users how to find, collect and send the SkypeFB /Lync client logs for troubleshooting, to start with as you all may have already seen in your day to day work day, some users find it difficult to enable “hidden” folders, not to mention finding the log file, zip it and send it, so he said why Microsoft doesn’t make it easy to do this task, we went back and forth in this subject but I realized I can help, so with my beginner C# skills I decided to write a very basic simple application that can be integrated into the Skype for business / Lync client action menu which I did and it has been used by the customer without big problems, and I decided to share it with the community, maybe it make your life easy too

During one of my regular on-site visit to a customer of mine, I ran into a problem with a user cannot sign in to Lync 2013 clients, whenever the user try to login he gets an error message telling him to check his username and password (Login credentials), although the credentials is 100% correct, he could never log in, interesting to say here is that the history of the customer’s infrastructure included an Active directory migration.
